Cali Baila presents 1st Salsa Caleña Meeting in Amsterdam

This 30th of November the first Salsa Caleña meeting in Amsterdam will be a fact!
Under artistic direction of Mabel Escobar, a real meeting with all the right ingredients which will make this ‘encuentro’ a mini-congress an a firm introduction on Salsa Caleña.
Cali Style salsa is getting more and more atention by dancers of latin styles around the globe. We will invite the following artist to come excusively to Amsterdam: Stefanny Moreno, Yinessa Ortega, Tatan Hernandez, Francy Barahona and La Arizala, all originally from Cali Colombia.
6 hours of extensive Workshops & Masterclasses for individuals and couples, you will learn all basic steps, footwork and tricks, and also more advanced moves of this dynamic salsa dance style from Colombia.
At night there will be a Rumba Caleña organized together with the popular salsa on vinyl clubnight LA EPOCA, with DJ’s on vinyl and percussion, we have invited DJ Juanpachanga, DJ Hector El Paisa, DJ Oskar Salsabor and on percussion the master Gerardo Rosales. All invited artists will present an spectacular dance shows during the evening. There will be Colombian Food and drinks!

MEET OUR ARTISTS
Stefanny Moreno is a Colombian artist, born in the city of Cali, currently residing in Spain. Singer, dancer and choreographer, 4-time world champion of salsa, Latin rhythms and bollroom dance, with 24 years of experience. Stefanny is currently the winner of Got Talent All Stars Europe 2023.
She has also been a finalist on television shows such as: Jennifer Lopez’s World of Dance on NBC in the United States. Got Talent Spain, America’s Got Talent and Tu Si Que Vales Italia. She was awarded by the Colombian embassy in 2023 as the 10 outstanding Colombians in Spain. Stefanny has traveled all over the world sharing her art in addition to working for big brands and artists such as: Nike, Desigual, Adidas, Marc Anthony or Nathy Peluso among others.
Yinessa Ortega is a dancer, choreographer, two-time world champion in the Cali salsa style, with more than 25 years of artistic career, taking Cali salsa to another level, spontaneous and creative that will make the workshops an exceptional experience.
Yinessa also has danced in the World Game and danced with Jennifer Lopez at her Superbowl Halftime show. She is currenty touring Europe teaming up with @hernandeztatan30 and will come exclusively to Amsterdam for our event.
Jonatan Hernández, better known in the artistic world as (Tatan) with more than 18 years of experience in dancing, is one of the most influential teachers in Cali salsa in the world, world champion of salsa in groups and in couples, with more With 12 years of experience as a teacher, he has more than 1 million followers on the most important social networks thanks to his content creation.
Francy Barahona was born and raised in Cali and currently residing in Paris France where she founded the dance company @calisabor_salsa_calena. She had her training in different academies in Cali and is now promoting the Cali Style Salsa in France and Europe. She has a broad experience in teaching and performing in shows of all latin and ballroom styles.
Mabel Escobar was born in Cali, Colombia
A lover of dance since she was little, always dancing!
At a very young age she went to live in Europe, Ibiza, where she represented Cali in the Balearic Islands, winning several competitions in the sector.
She has now lived in Holland for 7 years, during which she has dedicated herself to teaching Cali salsa and the joy that identifies her land, sharing happiness through dance.
In her career she has shared the stage with great artists such as: El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico, Grupo Niche, José Alberto el Canario and Fruko y Sus Tesos, among others!
La Arizala was born in the city of Cali, Colombia, with an artistic career of over 15 years. She has visited around 14 countries. She is a professional dancer and choreographer. In 2020, she was the winner of the Cali Vive LGTBI influencer of the year. She also participated in the opening of the World Game Cali 2013 and the opening of the FIFA Futsal Cali 2016. She has had the opportunity to be a special guest in different dance competitions with special artists such as Roberto Lugo and Pipe Bueno. She took second place as a professional soloist in the first internship at the Latin Expression Academy, from there she began her artistic career. Lately she danced with Frulko y Sus Tesos and at in the Pride of Amsterdam. She currently lives in the Netherlands training new talents and taking Cali salsa wherever she goes
